Ned guides the development and execution of SMARTREVENUE's video product. He is a 30 year veteran of the film and television industry, who has produced numerous memorable and influential television series, documentaries, and films. Ned is the recipient of the Emmy and Ace awards, and has been nominated for the Academy Oscar, ACE, and NAACP awards. In addition to his work as an executive producer, Ned has been the General Manager of WNYE-25 and an executive at CBS MGM Home Video. Ned received his MBA in Marketing & Finance from Columbia University and BS in Broadcasting & Film from Boston University. |
Dirk Defenbaugh

Dirk has more than 18 years of consumer marketing and retail experience. He has a wealth of retail and consumer goods experience including direct marketing, strategy development, designing multi-channel consumer experiences, advertising, and marketing/sales plan development. Formerly served as Executive Director for Fitch and as Partner/Chief Development Officer for Retail Planning Associates (RPA). His degree is from The Ohio State University. |
Braxton Haulcy
VP Business Development & New Opportunities
Braxton is a Veteran of the research industry, with more than 20 years of consumer packaged good experience. He has experience in market research, customer satisfaction and loyalty research, competitive intelligence, category management, field sales, corporate development, and finance. Braxton served as Team Leader at Questar on the Darden Restaurants account where he managed the satisfaction and loyalty research program. Previous experience includes work with Pillsbury, General Mills, Information Resources (IRI), and Nielsen. Braxton received his MBA in Marketing from the Krannert Graduate Management School at Purdue University. |

Brent has over 25 years of custom research experience in the consumer packaged goods sector. He was Executive Vice President of U.S. Sales and Client Service at NFO and TNS. He holds an B.A. in Anthropology, and a M.Ed from the University of Virginia. |
Andrea Durning
VP Research & Online Services
Since 2004, Andrea has brought extensive statistical consulting, data analysis, sampling, methodological and online research experience to SmartRevenue, as well as client and project management expertise. Andrea was formerly a Business Development Director at SPSS and an Account Director at AOL/Time Warner, where she developed her expertise in online sampling methodologies. She was also a Senior Methodologist at Statistics Canada, where she developed comprehensive weighting and variance estimation models, as well as designing and conducting numerous social and economic surveys. She holds a B.S. in Statistics from Dalhousie University. |
David Greenawalt, PhD
Project Director
Specializing in qualitative and quantitative methodologies, David has significant experience in all phases of research including design, fielding, and analysis. Dr. Greenawalt earned his PhD in Anthropology from the University of Georgia, where his dissertation focused on the relationship between marginal socioeconomic status and maritime resource use practices in an artisanal fishing society in Honduras. |
Mike Kozloski, ABD
Project Director
Michael provides expertise in conducting community and nationwide surveys segmentation to provide analytical insights including simple-to-complex model building. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Chicago in sociology, studying in the areas of demography and epidemiology. He holds an MA in sociology from the University of Chicago and an MS in statistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison |
Clare Studwell

Clare’s repertoire includes design, execution, and analytical responsibilities across a variety of qualitative and quantitative research types, such as ideation, concept testing, name testing, A&U, and segmentation for a range of clients and industries. Clare has also worked at Directive Analytics and W5, both boutique market research firms, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Middlebury College. |

Director of Field Operations
Nick directs field operations within the Ethnographic Resources Department. Nick draws on years of experience in the magazine, advertising and consumer research industries to develop and execute field research sample plans, designs, and protocols. Nick is also actively involved in the international expansion of SmartRevenue with a particular focus on Southeast Asia and China, where he lived for 5 years. Nick holds a MA in communications from Cal St. – Fullerton where he concentrated on issues relating to brand equity, integrated marketing and the Chinese consumer. |
Jon Keesey
VP of Field Operations & Ethnographic Resources
Jon oversees the recruiting, screening, and training of the SmartRevenue ethnographic field team. He has nearly a decade of operations and marketing experience as a small business owner, and has successfully launched several product lines. He was a PhD candidate (ABD) in anthropology at the University of California - Santa Cruz where he won the Excellence in Teaching award and conducted research in Haiti and Uganda. |
